PODCast is dedicated to engaging and empowering young people, particularly those at risk of social exclusion, by enhancing digital literacy and promoting non-formal education.
The initiative is powered by a consortium of organisations from Spain, Portugal, Serbia, Belgium, Greece, and Italy, each contributing unique expertise and local insights.
For instance, Formación para el Desarrollo e Inserción in Spain specializes in employment training and integration, while Associação Mais Cidadania in Portugal focuses on civic engagement. In Serbia, the Institut za medije i različitosti and the Media Diversity Institute Global in Belgium deal with media diversity and inclusive practices. Meanwhile, AMKE Kentro Neon Ipeirou in Greece and ETV Eurotreviso in Italy bring expertise in youth work and community engagement.
PODCast emphasises creating safe, inclusive spaces where young participants feel represented and valued. Research highlights that less than 5% of youth-related media content includes voices from marginalised communities.
By addressing this imbalance, the project ensures a wider range of perspectives are heard, fostering inclusivity and a sense of belonging.
A key focus of PODCast is equipping youth with practical skills such as podcast production and digital media training. These efforts are particularly targeted at youth in partner countries facing significant challenges with employment, offering educational opportunities that improve employability and career prospects.
PODCast builds bridges between youth organisations, local institutions, and public bodies, creating a collaborative network to tackle shared challenges. By doing so, the project serves as a model for supporting at-risk youth across Europe.
Through these initiatives, PODCast expands its reach, amplifies its impact, and contributes to a more inclusive and supportive environment for young people across Europe.
